The front cover of a funeral order of service usually starts with wording like 'In loving Memory' or 'A service to celebrate and remember the life of' and the deceased name. Careful use of different fonts and font sizing and spacing can define the look of the front cover without making it look to busy.
Under the name is the best place for the deceased date of birth and date of death, as the deceased name is usually displayed bigger than other text on the page it allows for the dates to fit in neatly.
Next, an image of the deceased is usually placed with either a border around the picture or the picture can have the edges softened / feathered to create a professional look careful use of the shape of the image oval, rectangular or square can also make a big difference to the overall look. Next, the location and date where the service will be held is placed usually near the bottom of the page centered.
Optionally, you could opt for a young and old style, where the layout is change like the example below to incorporate two on images of the deceased on of then when they were younger and one older.
You can also choose to incorporate images into the layout, for some a football teams logo or a popular option is to add in flowers. In most cases we find that a simple coloured border can finish it off nicely.
