Planning a funeral order of service from start to finish.
If your planning out a funeral order of service you first need to ascertain who will be providing the running order of the service. This is usually put together by the priest or funeral celebrant who is leading the service. It's best to speak to them and ask if they will be providing you with a document of the running order.
If they are, great you already will have most of what you need to produce the funeral orders of service. If however you find yourself having to put it all together or choose to don't worry we've listed out all the important parts so that you can feel confident you've got it all covered.
Front Cover
the first line typically reads 'In loving memory' or 'A service to celebrate and give thanks for the life of' after this you have the name of the deceased usually in larger text. Next the date of birth and date of death, this fits well under the name as it is larger that other text.
Underneath is a great place for a picture, usually a head and shoulders image. Sometimes it works with a larger image especially if they have recently celebrated a milestone birthday.
under the picture, you have the location and date of the ceremony.
Back Cover
The back cover is where to place any wording about donations, words of thanks and where the wake is being held after the service, remember to include the address and postcode so that people can easily find it.
If you like there is normally space on the back cover to add in an extra photo or two.
